Speed Racer in Glorious 4K!

Finally we got Speed Racer in Glorious 4K, a pedal to the metal movie by the Wachowskis.
Speed Racer is what happens when a Saturday morning cartoon drinks three energy drinks, crashes into a lava lamp, and somehow becomes cinema.

This movie does not simply “look colourful.” It looks like your TV discovered candy, anime, video games, Hot Wheels, and pure chaos all at the same time. Every frame feels like it was polished with rainbow wax. Subtle? Never heard of her.

The plot is pretty simple: Speed Racer wants to race, his family believes in him, corporate villains are ruining the sport, and cars apparently obey the laws of physics only when they feel like it. But honestly, the story is just the seatbelt. The real ride is the style.

The racing scenes are wild, loud, impossible, and completely committed to the bit. Cars flip, spin, jump, slide, and basically perform gymnastics at 300 mph. It is less “realistic motorsport drama” and more “Mario Kart if it had emotional family trauma and a bigger budget.”

And that is the charm.

Training Day

Waddup Office Hoyt!?
Training Day is basically one long, sweaty bad-vibes field trip through Los Angeles, where Ethan Hawke shows up thinking he’s getting a career opportunity and instead gets a masterclass in moral quicksand. Denzel Washington’s Alonzo Harris doesn’t just steal the movie — he kicks the door open, rearranges the furniture, and dares everyone else to keep up. He’s charming, terrifying, funny, and corrupt in a way that makes every scene feel like it has a lit match sitting on the table.

Hector is in this movie! HAH!
